ANIME. Because I feel like it.
Why do so many people hate it without even giving it a chance? How is it any different than American cartoons? I have friends who own every animated Disney movie but won't get near an anime title. So the style is different...Okay, every cartoon has a different animation style. Hm, what else? The story? They have a hell of a lot more depth and substance than Cinderella. And I'm not talking about Pokemon here, people. I'm talking about the good shit. Akira, Ghost in a Shell, Cowboy Bebop, any of Miyazaki's work.

OH! Subtitles. Reading subtitles is a hassle. Guess what, any anime sold in the US probably has a dubbed version on the DVD. Unfortunately, many dubs tend to suck (ridiculous voices/actors, music can be changed. See Funimation DBZ) but the story is still the same.

I began thinking about this because I finished Samurai Champloo a couple of days ago and was like, "Omg I have to watch this with so-and-so...oh wait..." It's so frustrating. Just give it a chance. Comedy, action/fighting, drama!! And of course, sweet animation. Whatever. Their loss, right? I'll go enjoy my anime and my pocky without you. God...

Not all my posts will be like this. This topic just happened to be on my mind.
